In the course of the meeting with Madame Minister the representatives of RSUH governing bodies talked about a series of projects carried out within the framework of the German-Russian Year for Research and Educational Partnerships (a.k.a. German-Russian Year for Higher Education Cooperation and Science in 2018-2020).
The meeting was held in MISiS, at the German-Russian Science Forum. The research vessel Polarstern was regarded as the symbol of partnership between the two countries, since the Russian–German cooperation has been the foundation for the expedition. RSUH was represented by Vice-Rector Zabotkina and Dr. Dirk Kemper, Chair of the Department of German Philology.University of Freiburg (Germany) and RSUH has been engaged in active academic cooperation in the fields of literature and culture. The idea of cultural policy of one country employing literary mediation to internationally represent certain aspects of its culture, has been discussed at RSUH at two conferences, whose list of participants included representatives of the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin and Mr. Mikhail Shvydkoy, Special Representative of Russian President on International Cultural Cooperation. Dr. Kemper presented to the Minister a publication on the subject recently released in German. Madame Minister expressed an interest in RSUH projects and upheld the suggestion to consider an expansion of academic cooperation.
